Holly plays Bach/Busoni “Je t’invoque, Seigneur” (I Call on Thee, Lord)

I have been playing every evening to fill the empty street below us with #songsofcomfort.  I was reluctant to let Jim post any of the recordings he was making because my piano has gotten terribly out of tune, but in the end, I realized that the sound of an out-of-tune piano is, itself,  representative of the times we are living in right now.  I do hope that this piece brings you some comfort.

  1. My dearest Holly,

Thank you so much for the gift of Bach. You have restored my faith in humanity and I’m sitting here weeping. Just to see you sitting so beautifully, playing sublimely, voicing that gorgeous piece, what a marvel. For those of us who had the good fortune of studying with you, your performance flooded me with memories of what it was like to sit next to you on that bench and learn from you. Simply magical. Please be well, stay home and safe and thank you (both) again for such a meaningful gift.

    Love to you and Jim,
    Ellie ( and Jim)

  2. Oh, Holly, that certainly was a song of comfort! Thank you for sharing your beautiful gift.
    Love,
    Noel

  3. Le tue interpretazioni riscaldano il cuore e lo riempiono di emozioni.
E’ un privilegio poter ascoltare le tue mani che scorrono sui tasti del piano. Grazie HOLLY
